INTRODUCTION TO THE OWNER Read this manual carefully before you operate the machine. If you do not completely understand the operation or maintenance of this machine, see your Case dealer. 855538 If you need more information, call us. DELIVERY OF THE NEW MACHINE When you get your new machine from your Case dealer, you will be instructed about correct operation and maintenance as shown in the Owner Warranty Registration form. When your Case dealer has given you these instructions, write your name on the report. Then, he will give you a copy for your records. See page 162 and make a record of the Product Identification Num- ber (PIN) and the serial number of your machine. The J I Case Company can make changes in design or specifications of the machine at any time with no obligation for these changes. 2
INTRODUCTION ______________ _ AFTER DELIVERY CHECK Two copies of the After Delivery Check are in the back of this man- ual. One copy is for you and one copy is for the dealer. Make sure that your Case dealer does the After De- livery Check after the first 20 hours of machine operation. NOTE: Your cost for this in- spection will be for filters, oil or other accessories. If the dealer comes to your machine, there can also be a cost for the time and distance. SAFETY WARNING: If you service the machine with the loader lift arms raised, always use the support strut. 1. Empty the loader bucket, raise the loader lift arms to maximum height and stop the engine. 2. Remove the rear pin from the support strut and lower the sup- port strut onto the cylinder rod. 3. Install the rear pin in the support strut. 4. Slowly lower the lift arms onto the support strut. If you do not follow this procedure, you can cause serious injury or death if the loader arms are lowered by accident. 321-6413 WARNING: Pressurized hydraulic system. Before you replace the hydraulic filter Is or service the hydraulic system, slowly loosen the hydraulic reservoir fill cap to relieve the air pressure. If you do not follow these instructions, you can be injured. 321-6666 WARNING: If you service the machine with the loader lift arms raised, always use the support strut. Failure to follow this procedure can cause serious injury or death of the loader lift arms are lowered by accident. 321-6671 WARNING: Check and service cooling system according to main- tenance instructions. h.
